Domgle - A web AJAX multi database search application (english)
Since release 4 of Domino, there existed nothing that could carry out a customisable multi-database search. It is a true void filled by various third-party products more or less complete but all with a price tag
. Since I am interested in Ajax (thanks to Jake Howlet), I thought to fill this gap. So I spent a lot of time creating "Domgle" (yes, I know but I did not find any better
). The result is a Google-like web search application able to throw requests at multiple databases on multiple servers, aggregate them and show results. There is only one agent required in each target database.Here's how it works:
In this application all is entirely settable:
- The target databases.
- The number of documents returned over by the search agents.
- Fields returned by the agents .
- Fields to be displayed.
- Ways to sort the data .
- HTML code to be generated to display the results .
- Etc…
Here's an example of a configuration document :
You can test this application here. The target databases are three forum databases with about 20 documents each.

Just downloaded from OpenNTF. Good job! One thing: I had to change the url manually to "as?OpenForm" the first time in order to get to the config.

I get the following error when opening the settings page from a web browser. Any ideas?

Great idea. I downloaded from openntf.org.
One problem, I can't get the multi-server functionality to work. If I check Yes - and one of the servers is the one this app runs on - it hangs the HTTP task - have to restart, if I only list other servers - I get an XML Parser error. For the proxy agent. . . does it require a specific version of Notes or a JRE?
